Oak Cliff born and raised (according to IMDb) Emily Davis features in two star-studded shows ripe for binging over the holidays.

In Paramount+’s Tulsa King, starring Sylvester Stallone, Davis is Roxy, a trusted member of the gang upon whose turf Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Stallone) has unrepentantly stepped.

The character Roxy is a decorated ex-military ammunitions expert whose membership in a ruthless gang is one of several mysteries surrounding the show’s personalities.

The general critical consensus regarding Tulsa King is that it can be clunky, trope-y (he spent 25 years in prison because he’s no snitch!) and meandering, but it is enjoyable and, at times, laugh-out-loud funny. “When Tulsa King coasts on its winking, knowing comedy, it’s gangbusters,” according to RogerEbert.com.

Davis also appears in three episodes of The Patient on Hulu. The show stars Steve Carell as a psychotherapist held prisoner by a patient who wants to stop serial killing.

Davis plays Mary, our murderer’s ex wife. The most Davis-heavy episode involves Mary coming to lunch at the home where the therapist is being held hostage. Will she hear his cries for help?

The Patient has received universally good reviews. As the New York Times puts it, it’s “more distinctive and complex than a synopsis suggests, and it’s often highly entertaining in its modulated, cagey way.”

Davis played Mavis in the 2021 film The Harbinger and also had a role in the television series American Rust (via IMDb).
