If you love the Lush store at NorthPark for its delicious handmade cosmetics and salts one can scrub, spray and slather on, know that there’s a similar luxury soap and skincare shop that just opened on Jefferson.

They make those candles that look like pie. The problem with those is, are you going to light it? Melt it? It looks too cute.

Anyway, the good news is that the owners (our names are Starr, Tim, Paige, Osiris and Lyric, according to the website) say they bring only the highest quality herbs, clays and oils, to deliver the deepest cleanse and make customers glow.

“We are committed to helping wake our brothers and sisters up to the toxins and chemicals in commercial products you may be using everyday,” they note on the website. “We infuse our  knowledge of Indigenous medicine into each product.”

The owners of Woke Soap are descendants of the Sisseton Wahpeton Dakota Tribe in South Dakota, according to company literature.

“Our family is just as mixed and blended as our soaps,” they note on the site. “We began in West Fargo, North Dakota and now are bringing Texas a whole new vibe.”

Woke Soap stocks a variety of shampoo, body and face soaps, essential products for every skin type and tone, candles, herbs, crystals, jewelry and more. They say they carry only items made with natural, organic ingredients that are healthy for humans and our earth.
