The Kimball High School and Faith Family Academy men’s basketball programs just added the biggest win in Texas high school basketball to their resumes.
Both teams clinched the UIL state championship title in their respective divisions during playoff games in San Antonio Saturday.

Kimball High School defeated Killeen Ellison 69-48 for the 5A title.
It is the seventh state championship title for Kimball’s program, and the fourth state championship win since 2011. The win breaks a tie between the Kimball and South Oak Cliff basketball programs, and secures the Knights a record of most state championship wins in DISD history.

Faith Family Academy won the 4A division, becoming back-to-back champions after clinching the 2022 trophy.
The Eagles beat Houston Washington 70-56, tallying a third state win for the Faith Family Academy program.
“We always teach our kids that you can’t live in the past; you have to continue to move forward and focus on what’s in front of you,” head coach Brandon Thomas told the Advocate at the beginning of the season about coming off a state championship win.
