A man shot and killed by Desoto police Monday morning has been identified by Dallas ISD as a Moises E. Molina High School employee, KDFW (Fox4) reports.
47-year-old Michael Christopher Nunez was a teacher at Molina, the district confirmed Tuesday.
Police say they responded to a call in the 300 block of Polk Street around 11:38 a.m. Monday where a homeowner described an unfamiliar man holding an object and “burglarizing” their home. When police arrived, they say Nunez was outside of the residence and armed.
One officer shot Nunez after he advanced towards the police officers, officials say.
The officer has been placed on administrative leave, following department policy.
