This story was updated 3/15 to show that Irving was seen on a second occasion repping his SOC gear.
NBA hotshot Kyrie Irving has been in Dallas for just over a month, but it doesn’t take long to know who the MVPs in our city are.
Irving sat out of Monday night’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies and was spotted on the sidelines sporting a South Oak Cliff 2022 state championship hat.
Irving, who was seated alongside Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic and team owner Mark Cuban, is receiving praise for the hat choice. Some Twitter users are speculating it cements his intention to stay in Dallas, while others are commending him for integrating into the city so quickly.
Irving’s Mavericks debut was on Feb. 8 after he was traded by the Brooklyn Nets.
Means a lot to see @KyrieIrving repping SOC . As a @dallasschools alum I love the support. DISD is often over looked, especially schools in South Oak Cliff. Feels great to know you see us 🤞♾️ pic.twitter.com/8ZmXqznR4K
