Dallas Area Rapid Transit is providing free rides to polling locations May 6, Saturday, the date City of Dallas residents will elect City Council members and, presumably, re-elect unopposed incumbent mayor Eric Johnson.

“Voters can ride at no charge on all DART buses, trains, GoLink, the Dallas Streetcar, Paratransit Services and the TRE between EBJ Union Station and CentrePort/DFW Airport Station,” DART announced.

To participate, bring your valid voter registration card. GoLink riders can use promo code VOTE23 at checkout for a complimentary Adult Local Day Pass in the DART GoPass app on May 6. Learn more at dart.org/vote.

Now that that’s covered, if you live in D1, don’t let anything silence your opinion about our neighborhood’s representation for the next two years. Oak Cliff residents already began early voting last week.

On Election Day, May 6, voters are required to cast their ballots at their assigned polling place. This is a change from early voting, where registered voters are able to go to any Dallas County voting location.

Check your voter registration status or see your assigned polling place here.
