  • We are so proud of all the winning educators selected as Dallas ISD’s Teachers and Principals of the year, but I’d like to give a special shout out to our very own District 7 teacher, Greiner Middle School’s Laura Trevino for being selected as a finalist.

  • Master principals in Dallas ISD receive recognition: Congratulations to Dallas ISD’s Master Principals, who make up the top 10% of school principals in the district. These rock stars include many of our own District 7 leaders: Ida Escobedo of Margaret B. Henderson Elementary, Caroline Wilson of James Bowie Elementary, Sandra Espinosa of Felix Botello Elementary, Stephanie Amaya of Adamson High School, and Marco Barker of Rosemont Elementary School.

Dallas ISD college and career readiness: Two years ago, Dallas ISD became one of the first districts in the state to pass a policy requiring the administration to present information on graduates’ college and career attainment beyond graduation day, This month, Dallas ISD detailed its progress to date, which can be viewed here.

Upcoming Events:

  • Board Meeting: 6 p.m., Thursday, May 25
  • Last day of school for regular calendar schools: Friday, May 26
  • Last day of school for intersession calendar schools: Friday, June 23

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at BenMackey@dallasisd.org if you have thoughts, ideas, questions, concerns, or simply want to say hello!

Best,
