If West Dallas’ mini-golf and play bar Another Round is your jam, good news. Owners Alicia and Kendall Spence are unveiling a second iteration of their drink-and-game experience with Round Two, a retro arcade and gaming venue set to open July 19 at the Tyler-Polk TYPO corner.

It’s replacing the erstwhile Flashback Retropub, and, while the venue will be adults only after 7 p.m., younger patrons are welcome during daytime.

“Similar to Another Round, the mission of Round Two is to to meld a classic activity with its newer form to bring generations together,” the owners, who live in Oak Cliff, say in a press release. “We will continue focusing on top tier hospitality and interactive experiences for our guests.”

Round Two builds on the space’s existing collection of 50-plus arcade and retro console games — think Pac Man, X-Men, Ninja Turtles, Frogger, NBA Jam and The Simpsons on Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo64, Nintendo Switch, Xbox. They’ll add two gaming bays and a virtual reality area and plan to host weekly gaming tournaments, according to a presser. They also carry board games and other analogue activities for kids of every age.

According to the press release, much like its sister concept Another Round, Round Two’s bar will feature a modern take on classic cocktails along with a selection of fun, flavorful boozy shots. Promoters’ suggested specialty drinks: Peach’s Parasol (bourbon, apricot liqueur, peach purée, lime juice, agave, a hibiscus tea floater and mint) or Star Power (Texas tequila TWF Reposado, blood orange liqueur, Cointreau, lime and agave, topped with champagne and an orange garnish) or Hyrule Mule (Jameson orange, ginger liqueur, lime juice, agave, ginger beer and mint).

Hungry guests can hit the gaming-themed snack bar to build their own brown bag lunches from ingredients by Edylicious deli, a locally owned tea room which specializes in catering and serves gourmet sandwiches and salads.

Round Two will partner with its established sibling Another Round to offer monthly dual memberships — $40 buys adult patrons unlimited mini golf (at Another Round) and arcade entry.

Round Two entry fee runs $5 per person aged 21+ and $10 per person under 21. Gaming bays can be rented, online or walk-in, for $15 per hour, and the VR area rents at $10 per hour.

At the grand opening, Wednesday, July 19, Round Two — located at 821 W Davis — will offer a full day of free cover and free arcade games for all. After that it’s open seven days a week and becomes 21+ after 7 p.m.
