Police responded to a shooting call Wednesday around 10:55 p.m. and found a 23-year-old man shot at the apartments near the Rosemont campus in the 600 block of Stevens Village Drive.
The victim, Davron Williams, was taken to the hospital where he died from the wound, police say.
Police received a description of the shooting suspect at the scene, and shortly after learned that a man matching the description was in a local hospital with a gunshot wound.
According to police, an investigation determined 19-year-old Jakyri Fulce was responsible for the shooting death.
Fulce has been arrested and charged with the murder of Williams, and is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail on charges of murder and evading arrest.
Bond has not been set, and it was not immediately clear if Fulce has a lawyer.
