The season premiere of the Dateline NBC‘s 32nd season will take a look at the now-infamous murder-for-hire that occurred in South Winnetka in 2020.

The two hour report, Losing Faith, will air Friday at 8 p.m., and will detail the fatal shooting of James Faith who was killed while walking outside his home. The special will also include an interview with Darrin Lopez, who was sentenced to 62 years in a state penitentiary by a jury in July for the murder of James Faith.

“I was on, like, on a mission in the military,” Lopez told Dateline reporter Josh Mankiewicz. “I was doing what I had to do to protect Jennifer.”

Jennifer Faith was sentenced to life in prison for manipulating Lopez, her high school sweetheart with whom she was having an affair, to kill James while the couple was out on an early morning walk.

The true crime episode will feature interviews with Dallas homicide detectives, federal prosecutors, lawyers and reporters with detailed knowledge of the case, as well as other friends and family members.
