District 1 recommended projects map.

Last week, a list of recommended projects for the $1.1 Billion 2024 bond was released. Of the projects proposed in District 1, only 5% made the recommended list, which was developed by the five City Council appointed Community Bond Subcommittees. The list has now been given to the bond task force who will finalize funding plans largely based on those recommendations.

While only 5% of District 1 projects made the shortlist, the projects total tens of millions of dollars, and projects span every corner of our neighborhood.

Notice a project missing from the map? Even if it didn’t make the recommended list, City Council member Chad West said neighbors are able to show up to public bond task force meetings to continue advocating for projects important to them.

In the coming days, the Advocate will publish a series dedicated to sharing some of the recommended projects for each Oak Cliff city council district. While this is not an exhaustive list of every proposed project, we have aimed to highlight some of the big ticket proposals that could make the final bond package.
