“Texas’ Stevie Ray Vaughan demanded your attention. He had absorbed the styles of just about every great blues guitarist,” Rolling Stone writes. “Vaughan was recognized as a peer by the likes of B.B. King and Eric Clapton, and despite his 1990 death in a helicopter crash, he’s still inspiring multiple generations of guitarists.”

Out of 250 honored guitarists, Vaughan finds himself in good company in the top 20.

Keith Richards claimed spot #15, and Prince is at #14. Carlos Santana closes out at #11, while Eddie Van Halen and Jimmy page occupy #4 and #3 respectively.

Of course, the #1 spot could go to none other than Jimi Hendrix, with “Little Wing” recognized as a key track in his discography.

Without trying to rile up any Hendrix die hards, may we present for Rolling Stone’s consideration, Vaughan’s take on the song.
