The store opened Thursday and will serve their iconic chicken sandwiches and nuggets Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. The location is expected to employ 110 part- and full-time workers.

Dallas native Consuela Jacobs is the store’s local Owner-Operator and will handle the day-to-day operations of the store. Jacobs said the store’s opening marks her return to RedBird. As a teenager, she grew up visiting the former RedBird mall, she said.

The store’s opening marked the 3,000th Chick-fil-A location nationwide, and the 471st in Texas.

“We couldn’t imagine a better location for a milestone opening,” said Kyana Bascomb, Sr. Real Estate Manager of the Southwest Region for Chick-fil-A, Inc., in a statement. “Chick-fil-A is honored to play a small role in the exciting revitalization of the RedBird neighborhood, and we look forward to serving our guests as this community continues to grow and prosper.”

To commemorate the landmark opening, Chick-fil-A Inc. will host service events and give donations to benefit RedBird and Oak Cliff based organizations.

Jacobs and Chick-fil-A, Inc. staff members will pack 3,000 backpacks with supplies and food that will be donated to Harmony CDC Food Pantry and Boys & Girls Club of Oak Cliff.

The RedBird location will also recognize “100 local heroes making an impact in the RedBird area,” and offer them free entrees for a year.
