According to Dallas ISD, the last trespassing incident occurred on Jan. 11. The district is still assessing what materials, and the quantity of what was taken during the incident, he said.

“For context, construction sites are frequently trespassed and vandalized, which is why it is normal practice to pad project timelines and materials,” a Dallas ISD spokesperson said.

The district is conducting an investigation into the incident, although the district declined to comment on whether a suspect has been identified. In response to the break-in, the district has installed additional security cameras and is increasing patrol and monitoring of the site.

According to the district website, construction on the campus is currently 40% completed.

The $25 million project will add a fine arts wing to the school, as well as upgrade classrooms, lighting, finishes, windows and restrooms.
