 Construction updates:

  • Rosemont Upper Campus: Last month, the City of Dallas approved the plan amendment that we put forth. Everything remains on schedule.
  • Old Adamson High School: Dallas ISD is still consulting with individuals regarding the building’s condition and historic status. I’ll keep you updated on any developments.

February board meeting debrief:

  • Student achievement mid-year update: Every month, the board receives progress updates to our student outcome goals and this month we received the middle of the year academic report for all third to eighth-grade students. I’m proud to share that in all six areas measured, Dallas ISD reported gains in each area and every demographic group showed growth from last year. This is especially powerful considering Dallas ISD implemented a new curriculum this year for the first time.
  • Dallas ISD 2023 Bond year in review: At our February board briefing, Superintendent Stephanie S. Elizalde, Ed.D. and school leadership gave an update on the 2020 Bond. Thus far, $1.4 billion of the Dallas ISD Bond has been deployed, employing 48,795 workers. There are 242 projects in various stages across the district, encompassing a wide array of campus improvements with safety and technology enhancements.

Upcoming Events:

  • 6 p.m., Monday, March 25: Community Budget Workshop at Hillcrest High School
  • Friday, March 29: District Closure – NO SCHOOL
