In celebration of WFAA‘s upcoming 75th anniversary in September, the network has partnered with Greenspace Dallas to build a brand new nature trail at Kiest Park.

Greenspace Dallas is a nonprofit organization that focuses on building and maintaining nature preserves along the Trinity River.

The new Kiest Park trail will add nearly three miles to an existing half-mile trail on the space. Construction is funded by WFAA’s parent company, the TEGNA Foundation, which gave a $75,000 grant to Greenspace for this project, which should include an educational kiosk, interactive trail markers and trailside benches.

The new trail is scheduled to be completed by September, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony also planned.
