Ann’s Health Food Center & Market opened its first store in 1984 in Oak Cliff. Now 40 years later, they have four locations in Dallas and will be celebrating their anniversary throughout the month of July.
Opening July 1st, 1984 in the heart of Oak Cliff, Ann and Don Munchrath had the dream of bringing health and wellness to their community.
Ann’s mother was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes late in life and Ann wanted nothing more than to learn everything about the disease to help her mother manage her blood sugar with a holistic approach. Ann and her family hit the ground running to provide a healthy option for produce, groceries, supplements, and body care.
“Combining the large variety of products, staff knowledge, and customer care is what truly sets Ann’s apart,” said general manager Ryan Munchrath in a press release. “Ann’s is committed to providing products that are free of synthetic colors, flavors, and sugars. We pride ourselves in the quality of our products and our dedication to our customers. Inviting local entrepreneurs to sample their products, attending health fairs, sponsoring youth sports teams, speaking at churches or on the radio, and delivering goods to those who couldn’t reach us are just a few of the things that highlight Ann’s overall mission, to help our community in more ways than one every single day.”
To celebrate the anniversary, Ann’s will be having deeply discounted sales, prize drawings, samplings, and local vendors in attendance throughout the month of July.
