The Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce announced the continued success of the Business University Program, an initiative designed to empower small businesses in Dallas County through education and mentorship, and is celebrating their president Kiyundra Jones as she has reached a decade of service.
The Business University Program, which has made a significant impact on the local business community, is now even stronger thanks to its sponsor, Independent Financial.
The Business University Program offers a multi-layered approach to business training, combining in-class educational sessions with personalized mentorship. Since its inception, the program has helped numerous small businesses elevate their operations and achieve sustainable growth. This year, 15 businesses were selected to participate, gaining invaluable insights into best practices, financial planning, and strategic development.
Since accepting the position of president at the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce and Oak Cliff Empowered in July of 2014, Jones has exemplified unwavering leadership and dedication to her community through the establishment of programs including Oak Cliff Works (2017), Taste of Oak Cliff (2019), Black Men Matter (2020), Oak Cliff Thrives (2020), Business University (2023), Leadership Oak Cliff (2023) and Strictly Business Unscripted (2024).
The Chamber is holding a “Hats Off to a Decade of Service” celebration on Aug. 22 to honor Jones.
“It is an honor to celebrate Kiyundra Jones at the ‘Hat’s Off to a Decade of Service’ event and to publicly commend her leadership in the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce these last 10 years,” Amanda Moreno-Lake, President of Redevelopment at Jim Lake Companies, said. “Kiyundra is driven and dedicated, and seeing the intentional ways she has invested her time and energy into this community has been such an inspiration. I look forward to supporting her continuous shaping and betterment of Oak Cliff for years to come.”
