The Latino Strategy Institute powered by Oak Cliff nonprofit The Concilio held its highly anticipated Power of Latinos Summit: Rebranding the Latino Narrative presented by Truist and in partnership with the Center for BrainHealth on Sept. 12, bringing together thought leaders, innovators, and influencers to drive systemic change and elevate the Latino narrative in North Texas.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, as of 2023 Hispanics/Latinos make up 41.4% of the total population in Dallas County underscoring their pivotal role in shaping the city’s future. The summit served as a platform for dynamic discussions on topics such as narrative and media, banking, workforce development, artificial intelligence, and the digital divide.

“This summit was more than just a conversation; it was a catalyst for change. By bringing together leaders from diverse sectors, we’ve laid the foundation for a unified narrative that reflects the contributions and potential of Latinos. Our shared story is powerful, and it’s time the world sees it,” said Florencia Velasco Fortner, President and CEO of The Concilio.

The summit’s focus on creating actionable plans resonated with over 100 guests who attended.
