South Oak Cliff is making its fourth consecutive appearance in the state title game and will look to take home its third title in four years at 7 p.m. tonight at AT&T Stadium when they face Richmond Randle.

SOC went 8-2 in the regular season. Its two losses came to state powers Duncanville and Galena Park North Shore, both of which competed for the 6A Division I state championship in each of the last two seasons and were state semifinalists in 2024.

The Golden Bears cruised through their district slate and didn’t allow an opponent more than a touchdown throughout all of district play.

In its playoff journey, SOC beat Terrell (52-14 in the bi-district round), Huntsville (38-7 in the area round), Marshall (35-7 in the regional semifinals), Port Neches-Groves (56-14 in the regional finals), and Argyle (37-3 in the state semifinals)

Senior quarterback Carter Kopecky has passed for 1,882 yards and 20 touchdowns to no interceptions, while rushing for 337 yards and four touchdowns. Junior running back Mikail Trotter leads SOC in rushing with 1,005 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground.

Randle is in just its third year of varsity play and went undefeated in the regular season and won the District 9-5AII title. They have no state titles.
