Dallas ElectionsVoters passed all four of Dallas ISD’s bond propositions by more than 70% of the total ballots cast for each, according to Dallas County’s final unofficial results report.

Proposition A, which garnered 28,514 votes and 74.3% of the total, asked for about $5.9 billion “for school facilities, land and buses, including district-wide (a) safety and security, (b) new replacement schools, (c) renovated schools, (d) physical education facilities and (e) technology infrastructure,” according to the sample ballot. All schools in the district are expected to be renovated, and 26 are to be replaced, including Cedar Crest Elementary, John F. Peeler Elementary, Stevens Park Elementary, Dr. Frederick Douglass Todd Sr. Middle School / Whitney M. Young Jr. Elementary and Winnetka Elementary.

Proposition B is for technology upgrades, totalling $144.7 million, and was passed with 28,649 votes and 74.78% of the total.

Proposition C will use about $143.3 million to “(refund) all or a portion of the principal, interest and redemption premium on certain previously issued maintenance tax obligations of the district,” or refinance its debt. This proposition passed with 27,541 votes, 72.11% of the total. 

Proposition D is expected to funnel $26.25 million into repairing existing swimming pool facilities, and it passed with 27,179 votes, 70.99% of the total.

District 6 incumbent Joyce Foreman won her race against challenger Stephen Poole with 4,293 votes, 78.85% of the total. In Oak Cliff, District 6 includes David W. Carter High School and Justin F. Kimball High School.
