National Night Out Against Crime is Tuesday, Oct. 1, starting at 6 p.m., and there are many Oak Cliff events.
Kiest Park Recreation Center
Food, folklorico dancing, singing, face-painting and a bike ride are on the agenda for this event with Dallas City Council Members Scott Griggs and Dwaine Caraway. Kings Highway Conservation District neighbors are meeting at at Stone Park, on North Edgefield south of Kings Highway, at 5 p.m. for a 5:45 p.m. bike ride down Edgefield to the Kiest Park rec center.
Kidd Springs Park Recreation Center
Bring a side dish or something to share to this potluck with Kidd Springs Crime Watch, Kidd Springs Recreation Center and Kings Highway. They’ll have a bounce house for the kiddos.
Winnetka Heights Neighborhood Association
Neighbors will meet at Stemmons Park, on Jefferson between Windomere and Montclair, for food, drinks, music, games, photos with a fire truck and low-cost pet microchipping.
DART Police headquarters
Radio Disney, Dallas Fire and Rescue, Digger the DART dog, face painting, food, giveaways and games are planned for DART’s event, which aims to open discussions about crime and foster communication between DART and neighbors.
Methodist Dallas Medical Center
National Night Out at Methodist will have child fingerprinting, prostate cancer screening, live music, hotdogs and giveaways.
Dells District
This neighborhood association celebrates National Night Out in the parking lot of Grace Fellowship Church. They will have a DJ, a bounce house and chili dogs, plus neighborhood police and fire fighters.
