Kiest Park hosts one of the biggest celebrations in the city with City Councilmen Scott Griggs and Dwaine Carraway, the Dallas Fire Department and the Dallas Police and several neighborhood churches participating. There’s music, food, games, face painting and of course, the opportunity to meet some of your neighbors. The event at Kiest Park is from 5-9 p.m.

Winnetka Heights celebrates from 6-8 p.m. at Semmons Park, at Jefferson and Montclair. Along with music, food and kids activities, they’ll have low-cost microchipping for pets.

The DART Police celebrate from 6-8 p.m. at their headquarters in east Oak Cliff. That event features free blood pressure checks, discounted flu shots and giveaways. Along with activities for kids and a chance to meet Digger the DART Police dog, there also will be free haircuts for kids.
