The Bishop Arts District set the backdrop this weekend for a WFAA report on Dallas County’s new order requiring face coverings in public places.
Two of the county’s five commissioners voted against the ordinance: John Wiley Price, who represents part of Oak Cliff and the southern suburbs, and J.J. Koch, who represents Addison and suburbs north of Dallas.
Price said the decision should be left up to individual businesses, but many retailers say they welcome the ordinance because it avoids conflict with customers.
Watch the WFAA story below, which shows people in Bishop Arts wearing masks indoors but fewer wearing them on crowded sidewalks. The ordinance states that masks should be worn in outdoor spaces where it’s difficult to keep 6 feet of distance.
