Musical theater

Family Music Theater presents Godspell at New Vida Church of God at 3727 W. Kiest Blvd.

The shows are at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, Friday, Oct. 8 and Friday, Oct. 15, and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, Saturday, Oct. 9 and Saturday, Oct. 16.

Tickets cost $15-$20.

Benefit concert

Kessler Park United Methodist Church invites neighbors to a free concert with songs from the 70s.

Connections band performs at Roberts Forest, the little park behind the church, on Saturday, Oct. 9, at 3:30 p.m. The 10 piece band, which includes horn and rhythm sections, is fronted by the church’s senior pastor, the Rev. Eric Folkerth.

The concert is free, but attendees will be asked to make a donation to a fund that helps people avoid eviction from their homes.

Bring a chair or blanket and snacks.

Haunted forest

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Oak Cliff offers a haunted forest with “ghouls, goblins and zombies,” from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30.

Admission costs $10, and masks will be required.
