Each of 10 local playwrights received $1,500 grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and Dallas Truth Racial Healing & Transformation to write the plays. The plays are based on chapters of the book How To Be An Anti-Racist by Ibram X. Kendi.

The playwrights are Eugene Lee, Jonathan Norton, Kristen Adele Calhoun, Erica Malone, Alle Mims, Paula Sanders, Oba William King, Zetra Goodlow, Bwalya Chisanga and Michael Harrison.

They will be presented in a one-act play festival, The HOW TO BE Project: Ten Plays for Racial Justice, directed by Morgana Wilborn, Feb. 17-March 5.

The theater now requires proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours, and rapid tests are available for purchase up to 15 minutes before showtimes.
