While no Oak Cliff restaurants were awarded a Michelin star, several were recognized in different categories in the inaugural Texas Guide.
Tatsu, a Japanese restaurant in Deep Ellum, was the only Dallas-Fort Worth spot to receive a star. Seven Dallas-Fort Worth restaurants receive Bib Gourmand awards, and 20 were marked ‘Recommended’ by Michelin. Here’s the list from Oak Cliff.
Lucia — Bib Gourmand award
Michelin’s Bib Gourmand award honors restaurants that can offer a two-course meal, plus a glass of wine or dessert, for $50.
Lucia is a well loved and highly awarded Italian restaurant in Oak Cliff and earned the Bib Gourmand award.
Lucia was also named one of just five finalists in the Outstanding Restaurant category of the James Beard Awards in 2023. Lucia has received half a dozen James Beard nods since opening in 2010.

Recommended restaurants are eateries are worthy of attention, but they don’t meet Michelin’s rigorous standards for 1-, 2- or 3-star status, and they weren’t chosen for the Bib Gourmand, which notes “simple yet skillful cooking,” and often at an affordable price.

Another Oak Cliff recommended restaurant is Stock & Barrel.
Also run by a husband-and-wife duo, Stock & Barrel opened in 2014.
For the last nine years, the wagyu meatloaf has remained a menu staple and a crowd favorite at the modern American restaurant, and the frequently changing menu also offers favorites such as salmon tartare tacos and plenty of classic brunch options.
