Productivity killer: Squirrel Appreciation Day

When’s the last time you showed a squirrel how much you care? Well, today is Squirrel Appreciation Day, and here are few ways you can celebrate our rodent friends.

The Huffington Post compiled a list that includes watching squirrel videos and educating yourself. Did you know there are more than 300 different species of squirrels? The National Wildlife Federation recommends playing “squirrelly seek” in which your kids pretend to be squirrels looking for their nuts.

So, when you see a squirrel cross your path today, take a moment to appreciate the fun they add to our lives.

I, for one, will not take for granted my squirrel friends who have been living in my chimney since I moved to my new apartment. Thank you, squirrels, for keeping my dog company while I’m gone. I think she’s really grown fond of them.
