This is going to be a party.
The legendary Rebirth Brass Band performs at the Kessler Theater at 8 p.m. Friday, and at $20 per ticket, it is amazing the show is not sold out yet.
This is New Orleans-based super star trumpet player Kermit Ruffins’ original band. And they are, as they say in hip-hop, all the way live.
Here’s the Kessler’s description:
Simply put, The Rebirth Brass Band is an institution. Formed in 1983, the band has long since graduated from the streets of New Orleans to theaters and festivals all over the world. Rebirth is committed to upholding the tradition of brass bands while at the same time incorporating modern music into their show. Their signature brand of heavy funk has not only won over several generations of music lovers, it has become the soundtrack to an entire city. Rebirth is the undisputed leader of the pack, and they show no signs of slowing down-awaited at their Kessler Theater debut.
