Cafe Maya is a new restaurant that opened in the old Ojeda’s space at Jefferson and Tyler. Their grand opening is at 6 tonight, when margaritas are $1.

Also tonight, Thursday, Nov.3, is first Thursday in Bishop Arts, and it’s a wine walk. There’s also an antique  car show.

A photo exhibit dedicated to the Vaughan brothers, Stevie Ray and Jimmie, opens tonight at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center. The exhibit closes Thursday, Nov. 10, the night of Jimmie Vaughan’s homecoming show at the Texas Theatre.

Edie Brickell and Heavy Make Up play the Kessler Theater Friday. A quartet from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing Arts will perform in the lobby before the show.

The Texas Theatre is not even done showing scary movies. “Pumpkinhead” screens tonight. “The Woman” sounds totally creepy, and it screens through next Wednesday. And the third-annual Bloodbath Film Festival is Saturday and Sunday.
