This weekend: Music, dance, The Who, Singapore Slingers

Austin-based The Ugly Beats perform at the Foundry at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31.

If that puts you in the mood for a mod dance party, you’re in luck. Monthly dance party The Smoke comes to the ‘hood Friday, from 10 p.m.-2 a.m., at Texas Theatre. The Who’s “Quadrophenia” screens before the dance.

The Texas also offers Spike Lee’s “Red Hook Summer” all weekend.

More throwback is happening at the Kessler Friday when the Singapore Slingers perform with White Ghost Shivers. Ian Moore and the Lossy Coils perform Saturday, Sept. 1.

Monday, Sept. 3, is the Free Day of Yoga. Find a free yoga class here.
