This weekend: Jingle Bells on Bishop, Bob Schneider, Detroit

Soul queen Bettye LaVette performs at the Kessler tonight, Nov. 29. Bobby Patterson opens. Tab Benoit performs Friday, with Somebody’s Darlin’ opening. And Bob Schneider performs two shows Saturday.

Jingle Bells on Bishop is from 6-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 30-Dec. 1. Roaming carolers, sales, decorated streets and pictures with Santa.

ReTree Oak Cliff’s first tree planting starts at 8 a.m. Saturday.

The Hampton-Illinois branch library offers a free genealogy class at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. Register in advance online.

The Texas Theatre is showing “Detropia” and “True Romance.”
