Wine and dine: Romantic Dallas, CocoAndré, Gruet

sparklingwinethumb Dallas is one of the most romantic cites for dining out in the country, though not quite as romantic as San Antonio, Austin or Houston. That’s the result of a survey from OpenTable, the on-line restaurant service. Dallas is No. 11 on the list, while the other Texas cities were 1,2, and 10.

Oak Cliff chocolate shop  CocoAndré  was feature in an Associated Press report on Valentine’s Day for its chocolate pumps.

• Wine of the week: Gruet Brut ($13) used to be famous as New Mexican wine, but even today, when it’s made with California grapes, it’s a solid entry level bubbly. Look for lots of tiny bubbles, some crisp green apple and a little something than most bubbly at this price has. Widely available.
