The world’s fastest bicycle sprinters will vie for the second-longest stage of the Giro D’Italia Friday. At the same time, Oak Cliff bicycle commuters will pedal toward victory — perhaps even Victory Park — across the Jefferson Viaduct cycle track.
Friday, May 17, is National Bike to Work Day. From 6:30-9 a.m., Bike Friendly Oak Cliff will man an “energizer station” in the cycle track to push you to your personal triumph, pedaling all the way to work.
Snacks, beverages and bicycle-safety checks are in store for the station, one of four in the Dallas area that morning. Says BFOC: “Think loud and fun, with a bit of authentic Oak Cliff culture.”
KIND Healthy Snacks, Zang Triangle apartments, Oak Cliff Bicycle Co. and Oak Cliff Cargo Bicycles are sponsoring the event.
