“911 Sculpture Project #2”

The Oak Cliff Bank Tower observes Patriot Day Thursday, Sept. 11, with the unveiling of a sculpture titled “911 Sculpture Project #2” by North Carolina-based artist Jim Gallucci. The sculpture contains metal from the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center.

Rock the Cliff  is a 5k race benefiting Bison Giving Back, a nonprofit founded by Sunset High School alumni. The race starts at 8 a.m. at Lake Cliff Park. Register here.

The Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts hosts an exhibit of nine up-and-coming artists from nine Dallas galleries in “Rising Star 2” at Turner House. Gail Sachson of Ask Me About Art and the Creative Arts Center of Dallas will speak at the reception from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13. Tickets cost $50 for society members and $85 otherwise. The show is open to the public from 3-7 p.m. Sunday.
