Quintanilla middle school teacher Thom Browne’s heart-felt poem about his students’ lives won the I Teach Project’s essay contest.
More than 5,000 online votes were cast, and Browne tied with Conner Elementary teacher Katey Batey. They two teachers won the opportunity to speak at the Extra Yard for Teachers Summit at the Dallas convention center on Jan. 10.
Teachers can register to attend the free summit through Dec. 20.
