A baby giraffe (139 pounds, 5-foot-10) was born at the Dallas Zoo, and you can vote for her name. The choices are Adia, Kanzi and Kipenzi.

Texas Rep. Raphael Anchia, a Democrat who represents Oak Cliff in Austin, authored a proposal to allow both same-sex parents to be listed on their adopted children’s birth records. But the House State Affairs Committee refuses to vote on it.
