This weekend: Music, taco ride, Evel Knievel, block party

The Common Desk, which opened recently on West Davis, hosts a grand-opening block party from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20. Free drinks and snacks, a live art installation by local artist Kyle Steed, activities and games and live music.

The Killdares perform at the Kessler Saturday, Aug. 22.

Bike Friendly Oak Cliff hosts a taco ride starting at 4:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, from the Wild Detectives.

The Texas Theatre is showing “Being Evel,” the new Evel Knievel documentary.

The Foundry has two free shows this weekend. Roxy Roca performs Friday, and Screaming Females perform Saturday. Both shows start at 9 p.m.
