The $4.5-million renovation of Kidd Springs Park pool could begin around this time next year.

The transformation will include three separate pools: A six-lane lap pool with diving boards, a plunge pool with slides and a children’s pool with zero-depth entry and spray features.

There also will be a new bathhouse and office (pictured above).

The city also will pave a new parking lot for 50 cars. The pool complex could serve 400 people at a time, and admission is expected to cost $4-$7.

Design work will begin this summer, and construction could begin in May 2017. The project will take about a year to complete, so the new pool could be open by summer 2018.

Wait, so the flags say KSFAC. Kidd Springs something Athletic Center?

This price is much too high for neighborhood kids to afford on a regular basis, and that is what I thought neighborhood pools were all about.

We have a set up like this in Carrollton and the admission is more like $4 for residents than $7. The higher price might be for those outside Dallas?
