We predicted earlier this year that the Elmwood commercial district could become “the Bishop Arts for locals.”
It has a fabulous stock of mid-20th century architecture and a delightful neighborhood surrounding it.
The neighborhood association recently posted these old pictures of the district, given to them by neighbor Susan Lee. Some neighbors said it looks like the facades might’ve been spiffied up for the 1989 film “Born on the Fourth of July,” which was filmed here.
They’re looking for more old photos of the area if anyone has some.
