FBF: Tia Dora’s Bakery and Café (and tamales)

There are so many Mexican and Salvadoran tamale places in Oak Cliff that it’s hard to recommend one.

Dallas Tortilla and Tamale Factory is one of the oldest — they started in Little Mexico in 1950. Grocery stores including Fiesta and Rio Grande are great in a pinch. And there’s the successful Oak Cliff startup The Tamale Co., to name a few.

Some of the most highly recommended non-homemade tamales in Oak Cliff come from Tia Dora’s Bakery and Café on Illinois at Hampton.

See more pictures from Tia Dora’s, plus a few more recommendations, in our story from the December 2015 Advocate.
