March’s cover story mentions the Dallas Trail Network Plan — an eventual 250 miles of trails throughout the city. You can view this plan by downloading the PDF here. The different colors signify a trail’s status (existing, funded, proposed, etc.) The story also discusses how much is being spent, and how much more needs to be spent, to expand the city’s trail system from its current 100 miles to the 250-mile point.

Once that happens, as the story mentions, people will be able to travel from southern Dallas all the way to Plano without ever getting in a car. You can trace the map to see how the different pathways will connect, and where you might be able to access the trails from your house.
