Slideshow: A peek inside Oak Cliff Christian Church

Last we reported, Dallas ISD had agreed to allow the Old Oak Cliff Conservation League to find a seller for the 95-year-old Oak Cliff Christian Church. The question remains: who might buy the place? And because Dallas ISD has already made progress on internal demolition and asbestos abatement, in what kind of shape is the church?

L.O. Daniel resident Barry Kooda, the same guy who took photos of St. Cecilia after it was razed by a fire, recently popped into Oak Cliff Christian Church, and showed us what he found — you can see his photos in the slideshow after the jump. To read information about what you’re seeing, click on each individual photo. (Just as a comparison, the Dallas Observer blog ran pre-demolition photos of the church’s interior in early January.)

It’s such a wonderful old building and has a lot of potential. The work done so far makes it even more appealing to renovate and reuse.

What a beautiful building. There is so much potential for a new life for it.

Gosh. I’m speechless. Can we save this beautiful building?

What a great place that would be for any of the arts @ Adamson. Plays, concerts, talent shows etc. I would think they could find a use for it.
