Trinity River update: 30 years of flood talk

The Morning News has an long, interesting story about the Trinity River, the levees, the park, the tollway, the votes — just about everything imaginable that has happened concerning the river during the past 30 years. There’s even a cameo by former mayor Steve Bartlett, who inadvertantly started the whole process back when he was mayor in the early 1980s. There’s no real conclusion in the story, and if you aren’t a Trinity River aficionado, it probably runs a little long to read at work. But if you’re interested in the river and the hundreds of millions of dollars that are going to be spent there some day, you should check this one out.
