La Carreta Argentina now open on Beckley

It’s several months past due, but we’re glad to hear that La Carreta Argentina is now open on Beckley near Zang. La Carreta is the new restaurant from the husband-and-wife owners of Don Panza, which closed almost six months ago on Clarendon.

The new restaurant has a similar menu, including unique pizzas and empanadas, but they’ve added some new stuff, such as steak and sandwiches. Check out the new menu here.

La Carreta is open every day for lunch and dinner. Here is a link to their hours.

I’m sorry to say that our experience tonight was not good. This was our first time to go and we were looking forward to something new and different. There was one large group there and 3 small tables with guests. We ordered one pizza. After 45 minutes, our waitress asked us what size pizza we ordered. She said it was almost done. After another 45 minutes, I went to the counter to ask how much longer. The same waitress asked me what I ordered – and she is the one who took the order. We paid for our two drinks – of which we did not get a refill in the 1 1/2 hours we were there. I hope they get it together, because we need more good restaurants in the Cliff.

I never got a chance to try out Don Panza, but I heard EXCELLENT things. I’m so glad to hear they re-opened another restaurant and can’t wait to try it out!

They have a limited menu this week that includes empanadas, pizza and burgers. They’re going to the full menu for their grand opening Saturday.
