Scott Griggs to run for City Council District 3

David Neumann will have an opponent in the local election this May. Lawyer and community activist Scott Griggs today announced he is running against Neumann for the District 3 City Council seat.

Griggs has served in elected and appointed roles with Fort Worth Avenue Development Group, Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce, City of Dallas Board of Adjustment, Oak Cliff Transit Authority and the Stevens Park Estates Neighborhood Association. He also helped create the Fort Worth Avenue Tax Increment Finance District.

Griggs is married to Mariana Griggs, who coordinates Oak Cliff Community Gardens.

He will make an official announcement at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, near Cliff Manor Apartments, at the northeast corner of Fort Worth Ave. and Jacqueline Drive.

    This is GREAT news. Maybe now we have a shot at getting someone in City Hall that actually cares about Oak Cliff’s welfare.
