Texas Theatre’s open house, ribbon-cutting is Thursday

The Texas Theatre’s new management company, Aviation Cinemas, is really turning the place around. They’ve installed a bar and procured a liquor license, for one thing. And they bring us classic and independent movies every week.

The company is having an open house and ribbon cutting with Mayor Tom Leppert at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9.

The following special guests will be on hand:

*Historian Gary Mack, a JFK assassination expert and curator at the Sixth Floor Museum
*Actor Ron Jackson, who played the FBI spokesman in Oliver Stone’s film “JFK”
*Henry “Hank” Horn, Jr., a retired Dallas Police officer who was one of the first officers on the scene at the Texas Theatre to arrest Lee Harvey Oswald in 1963.
