Donate school supplies for families who cannot afford them

Cliff Temple Baptist Church registered 308 children for school supplies this year, plus a waiting list of about 50 families. And so far, they have enough donated supplies for about 30 kids.

“We need all of the basic school supplies,” says Marsha Mills of the church’s Goslin Opportunity Center.

A list of school supplies for DISD students is after the jump. Donate supplies or money in person at the church, near Zang and Sunset, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday. And email marsha@clifftemple.org or call her at 214.942.8601 with questions.

Last year, a sister agency donated backpacks and book bags to the center, which provided school supplies and book bags to 400 students last year. This year, they have 44 backpacks, and “it would be a miracle” to be able to provide book bags again this year, Mills says.

The children will receive the school supplies and backpacks (fingers crossed!) on Aug. 20, the Saturday before school starts.
