This weekend: Shopping, Scout-a-palooza, Jazz Age party, music

IndieGenius hosts a social tonight, Thursday, Aug. 25, starting at 5:30 p.m. Have a glass of wine and do some shopping.

Scout-a-palooza is an all-day event Saturday, Aug. 27, to learn about and experience scouting. It’s free and open to everyone.

The Texas Theatre hosts a Jazz Age party Saturday night with a screening of the Buster Keaton silent film, “The Playhouse”. Robert Edwards will perform the score, and the Matt Tolentino Quartet performs after the show. The theater also premieres Alex de Iglesia’s “Last Circus” and screens Federico Fellini’s “81/2” this weekend.

Bob Schneider performs two shows at the Kessler Friday night. Deadman, Homespun Remedies and the Electromagnetics perform Saturday. If I had any, I’d save my money for comedian Tig Notaro, who performs at the Kessler Tuesday. Tickets are only $15. I be we can scrape that up.
