Oak Cliff Advocate writer Gayla Brooks Kokel is one of the best storytellers of history we know, and judging from the way her articles quickly ascend in our “most read” list each month when the magazine content goes live on our website, it’s clear that readers agree.
She also happens to be a fantastic curator of historical photos, and unfortunately, we often run out of room in the magazine to showcase them. That was the case this month for her story on Harry Barton and the Rhythmaires. The photos she collected were too good not to showcase, so we created a Flickr slideshow of them. To see larger versions of the photos and to read about each one, click on the slideshow, which will lead you to the Advocate Flickr page.
